the one with: what in the world.

i read the new paper, apart from my daily dose of the straits times, berita harian, yahoo! news, google news and not forgetting tmz.com & e! online.

but what really got me pissed of late are news in singapore, about those poor children. about how these innocent children became the victims of the animals who stayed in the same house as them instead of an isolated cage in the zoo. these children who could have a whole life ahead of them which was cut short by these animals.

i was out with my love the yesterday & i was reading the new paper while waiting for our food at puncak. read about the story of poor nikie, how the animal of the father actually killed her, albeit claiming it was not done on purpose.
so what if you dont mean to do it on purpose. as a father, does it give you every damn right to actually hit a 23month old senseless that way over a few broken pieces of your damn cigarettes? she, a 23month old baby, knew nothing. you leave your cigarettes lying around & she thought it was something she could play with. she's still a child and they are curious beings. goodness! even my niece & nephews are still curious about my makeups and contact lenses. and everytime i take off my contact lenses, they will watch in awe. BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL KIDS! & you had the cheek to ask for a lighter sentence just because you had another 2 younger kids with promises of being a better father? so it took you the death of your own child in your hands to realise that you need to be a better father? why didn't you realise that both your wife and yourself needs to be better parents when you left your 3kids at home while you're out shopping? you went out shopping and left nikie, who was 23mths old to take care of her two younger siblings. where in the world did both of you put your brains? what does a 23month old kid knows what to do?

i seriously wanted to cry when i read the news in the new paper yesterday. tears of sadness for little nikie and tears of anger for both her parents. especially where it was described that she was beaten up to the extend of not being able to stand up & the stupid ass of the father actually punched her back. & what did the mother do? she did nothing. NOTHING! because she said that it was a norm & its ok for the father to beat nikie up to "discipline" her.

i was more emotionally inclined to this story because this was done by her own father. not stepfather, not the mom's bf. but her own flesh & blood. i could "understand" the other stories about those men who abused their stepchildren/gf's children till death though of course i am not saying it is acceptable. it is never acceptable to kill someone but these people have no "bond" so maybe they dont feel anything towards the kids. but in the case of nikie, it was her own father. nikie was the result of his sperm & his wife's egg. how could he do that? beating her the way he did is not a way of disciplining a 23mth old kid.

then when you realise the kid aint moving, you made her milk & tried to give her chocolate. you watched too much cartoons, you know those scenes where a character fainted & all they had to do was to put food in front of the person & the character will "wake up"?

wtf.

so Fadzli was saying about how this mindset of these people is different from us. but i dont think that by being a primary 5 dropout give you the sorry of an excuse to act like some animal. if you dont think you are mentally ready to be a father, then dont. if you still think enjoying your time alone with your spouse without caring about leaving your children alone at home, then dont be parents. fine, ok. sometimes you'd like to spend some time alone as a couple to relive those dating days. but dont leave them alone. get someone you trust to take care of the kids while you are gone. or at least drop them off at their grandparents'. dont leave a 23mth old kid to take care of her younger siblings. if you think your cigarettes are more important than the life of your children, then dont have any children. you spend $11.60 on a pack of cigarettes, which is the most expensive cigarettes (i think. in this case, i think prolly it should be some low grade cigarette). so $11.60 is more precious to you than the life of your own child?

how much is a pack of condom? wear it. if you dont think you can afford any other forms of contraception. prevent your little men from entering the cave. at least you are doing your part of not having children due to the result of your high sexdrive.
main je tau. anak tak tau jaga.

goodness!

like as if it is not enough, i read the paper today about how a father raped his 15yr old daughter with the excuse of wanting to "punish" her for things he said she did.
wtf.
crazy much?

on a different note,
Fadzli's somewhere in KL (i think) for his annual sepang trip.
& i miss him. =(
